Privacy Notice — onFocus Renew

Last updated: April 2026

1. Controller

The controller responsible for data processing within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

onFocus.at e.U.
Daniel Ruschka

Email: office@onfocus.at

2. Core principle

onFocus Renew is an offline-first app. It works without a user account, without its own server and without any connection to provider-side services. All data you enter — entries, categories, cancellation deadlines, attachments, reminders — is stored exclusively on your device.

The provider (onFocus.at e.U.) has no access to the content you store in the app and can neither view nor evaluate it.

3. Which data does the app process?

3.1 Local storage on the device

All content you create in the app is stored locally in your device's protected app database. In particular this includes:

  • Entries with title, category, expiry date, cancellation deadline, notes
  • Categories (symbol, colour, reminder defaults)
  • Optional price and payment-period details
  • Optional attachments (photos, documents)
  • App settings

This data does not leave your device — except via the optional iCloud synchronisation described below.

3.2 iCloud synchronisation (optional)

If you are signed in to iCloud on your device and iCloud Drive is enabled for onFocus Renew, your app data is synchronised between your own devices (e.g. iPhone and iPad) via Apple's CloudKit service.

  • Synchronisation takes place exclusively within your personal iCloud account.
  • Responsibility for iCloud storage rests with Apple Inc. as the operator of the iCloud service.
  • The provider onFocus.at e.U. has no access to your iCloud container.
  • Apple's data protection terms apply: apple.com/legal/privacy.

You can disable iCloud synchronisation for onFocus Renew at any time in the iOS settings under "Apple ID → iCloud".

3.3 Local notifications

The app uses the system framework UserNotifications to remind you in time about upcoming expiry or cancellation dates. These notifications are generated and scheduled exclusively locally on your device. There is no transmission to push servers.

You can revoke the permission to send notifications at any time in the iOS settings.

3.4 No tracking, no analytics, no advertising

onFocus Renew contains no analytics frameworks (e.g. no Firebase, no Google Analytics, no third-party crash tools), no advertising SDKs and no tracking. Your usage behaviour is not recorded or evaluated.

3.5 App Store statistics by Apple

Apple provides app vendors with aggregated, anonymised statistics about App Store downloads, crashes and — provided you have agreed to it in iOS — anonymous usage data ("Share App Analytics"). This data is collected by Apple and cannot be traced back to individual users by the provider.

You can disable the sharing of this data in iOS under "Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements".

3.6 Purchases and subscription (where enabled)

If the app offers a paid subscription, the purchase is handled exclusively via Apple's In-App Purchase system (StoreKit). Payment data is processed directly by Apple; the provider does not receive credit-card data or comparable payment information, only anonymised billing statistics provided by Apple.

4. Attachments and photos

If you grant the app access to photos or files in order to add attachments to entries, these attachments are stored exclusively locally in the app (or — if enabled — synchronised between your own devices via iCloud). There is no transmission to the provider or to third parties.

5. Legal bases

Insofar as any data processing outside your device takes place at all (iCloud sync, App Store statistics, in-app purchases), it is based on the following provisions of the GDPR:

  • Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR — performance of the user contract (provision of the app's functions)
  • Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR — consent (e.g. iCloud activation, notification permission, analytics opt-in in iOS)

6. Storage period

Locally stored data remains for as long as you have the app installed on your device. When the app is uninstalled, all local app data is removed by the operating system.

Data synchronised via iCloud can be deleted at any time via the iOS settings.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you generally have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Because the provider does not store or have access to any personal data of yours, you exercise these rights in practice directly yourself, by editing or deleting content in the app, or by uninstalling the app.

For questions, please contact: office@onfocus.at.

8. Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. In Austria this is the Austrian Data Protection Authority (www.dsb.gv.at).

9. Changes to this notice

This privacy notice may be amended if the app's functions or the legal framework change. The current version is available at https://onfocus.at/en/apps/renew/privacy.
